Dr.
Vickie earned her B.A. in Education and M.S. in Counseling from the
University of Nebraska, and her Doctorate from Emerson Theological
Institute. She worked for 13
years teaching and counseling K-12 students in the public schools, and for
six years in hospitals with Obesity/Eating Disorders programs, Abuse
Survivors, and Emergency Room trauma patients.
She also provided counseling and spiritual support for the
physicians, nurses, police officers, social workers, etc. working in and
with the ER.
In
15+ years of private practice, she has worked with hundreds of people in
crisis, including abuse, sexual assault, domestic violence, divorce, life
style changes, accidents and illnesses, grief, and more.
She has done individual, couple, family, and group therapy, and
worked with all ages of children, adolescents, and adults. Her greatest joys are working with exceptional individuals,
such as musicians, artists, child prodigies and the multi-gifted,
providing counseling, spiritual support, and resources for helping/healing
professionals, and teaching and writing about Creative Problem Solving.
During her career,
Dr. Vickie has conducted hundreds of classes, workshops and seminars for
schools, hospitals, churches, organizations and businesses in her many
areas of expertise and interest. Please join us to hear this highly
